Indigenous Language Learning Tools — Built by Students
The language data in these apps — words, definitions, metadata, and audio — comes from Sealaska Heritage Institute (SHI). We gratefully credit SHI for the audio and metadata from their online dictionary.
🔊 Visit SHI's official Tlingit, Haida & Tsimshian Audio Dictionary →Our dictionary entries were auto-parsed from published SHI source dictionaries, so extraction errors, OCR mistakes, and encoding glitches are possible. The data has not yet been reviewed or approved by community speakers and linguists. Some apps display confidence scores to flag lower-certainty entries. We share this openly so no one mistakes these teaching tools for a verified reference — the goal is to learn to build with real Indigenous-language data without spreading inaccuracies.
